pandora's
box
"You good little girl, sitting
nicely, I see,
on top of your box so quietly.
My little daughter, now hear what I say,
Please, do be good, dear, come what may.
"Inside this box, which is locked up tight,
(You're a big girl now) is an ugly sight.
There's nasty demons straight from hell,
they'll grab you, though you scream and yell,
and drag you, helpless, under their spell,
and make you filthy and selfish as well.
"I want you to be nice and good
and do just what a little girl should.
Please, please, don't even touch those locks,
please stay, sit tight, please guard your box
forever."
The little girl sat quietly
atop her terrifying depths
she covered the locks with her little hands
and slowly turned to stone
