Why create a web site?
Often, you know that you have something good to share, but you don't know how to get the message out there. Part of the answer to this problem, is to create and maintain a user-friendly and up-to-date web site.
Sometimes potential customers like to know a little bit more about about you before committing themselves to a purchase. On your web site, you can make sure that all of your best points are fully explained. You can:
- create customer confidence in your product or business, and
- supply technical details, images, and other information which can be accessed by others in their own time.
In order to be successful, a web site needs:
- to be clear and user-friendly
- good navigation, so that the visitor is able to access the required information quickly
- the necessary metatags and good content management in order to maximise search engine placement
- no flashing images or other moving content, unless there is a specific reason for this
- a clean and pleasing-to-the-eye "look"
- to showcase the subject matter in an effective way
- and (importantly) to maximise accessibility (learn more here).
When you have your new site up and running, it is absolutely crucial that you put your web address on all of your stationery. This will ensure that everybody who comes into contact in the normal way has the opportunity to learn more about you.
Personal web sites, for those who have a personal product to sell (e.g., an artist or photographer) or for those who have a hobby they are passionate about, can also be arranged at a good price.
